Boat deck - plywood or aluminum? started by big poppa, june 11, 2014. 14 posts in this topic. big we used aluminum in our jon boat and it's strong as could be.. What type of wood to use in aluminum boat. aluminum bass boat manufactures use for the decks and floors in their boats? me decked it with 3/4" plywood.. ... composite decking for aluminum boat? even some of the aluminum boat builders that use the correct marine pt put a barrier between the plywood and aluminum.
